Water Changes

Hi there,
Please can anyone tell me how often I do a complete water change?
I do 20% every fortnight and have had my tank running now for nearly 3 months.
I haven't had alot of luck with fish in the past however these are doing really well and I don't want to to cock things up.
I know I might sound abit stupid but I would be grateful of a step by step guide if thats ok. )

Never ever do a complete water change, you will destroy all your good bacteria causing your tank to recycle and possibly kill all your fish. Only do partial water changes.
How many gallons does your tank hold and how many/what kind of fish do you have in it?

do a 40-50% water change every fortnight and when you are claning out your filter do one sponge at a time DO NOT do them all at once as you are losing all your gd bacteria

Thanks for the reply, my tank is 60 gallons and I have 2 fancytails and 2 black moors. They are all babies about one and a half to two inches big. I have an extremely powerful filter which is for a over 200 gallon tank.

Wow, those lucky fishies.

I've just bought one of those gravel vacs and was wondering how often you need to use it, I do 20% water change every week. Also how often do you clean the sponges in the filter? There is a white sponge and a carbon one.
