:-( I have carried out a partial water change at the weekend - the water was perfectly clear and tank doing really well. However, ever since water change the water is slightly cloudy. Temp is normal - water was correctly treated with anti-chlorine product and was at right temp - anyone got any ideas ???? Just think I have stuffed it all up now !?

Hi Tippy

How much water did you change?

Did you disturb the gravel when you replaced the water, as this could cause the cloudiness.

If it wasn't caused by bits and pieces being kicked up by your water change (that should settles within a few hours), the cloudiness could be from a bacteria or algae bloom... I had this pop up once or twice in the first few months of my tanks.

I'd let it wait a day or two and monitor the water quality. The tank usually settles down and balances itself out (I think people "play" with their tanks too much). However, if you're noticing a change in your fishies behavior or in the quality of water, do another water change and monitor from there.

Isn't it normal?? I thought (havent had experiane yet except with a fish bowl) that the water turned cloudy then it got back to clear. Or is that just with salt??
