My tank finished it cycle last week and I did big water change. The nitrate level was as good as zero. I've did a test earlier and the level is still only about 2 to 3.
So, is it better to leave the water change until next week or to still do one? :dunno:

If your tank has finished cycling and you have done the big water change, all you need to do is add fish and start with the regular 10 to 25 percent weekly water changes. Do you have live plants? If not, then the nitrate at 3 to 5 is fine. Actually, it's about perfect as low nitrate means that algae doesn't have anything to feed off of. Did you add fish as soon as it finished cycling? If not, have you continued adding ammonia? If you didn't add fish and haven't been adding ammonia, your bacteri are dying back off from lack of food.
