i just want to ask if there are janitor fish in your aquariums? because i have a tank with 2 flower horn and 1 janitor fish, the janitor keeps the aquarium clean but also eats everything else, like fish eggs.. is there a substitute for janitor fish? how do you mentain aquarium clean?

i change water every 2 days, about 80 -90% of the water. is that ok? comments please..

Need to know tank size and water stats first, please, but every two days seems like overkill.

Firstly, a regular % for a water change is 20-30% and every 5-7 days unless you have a major reason for a large dilution. Not familar with janitor fish.
Second to a gravel vac and algae scraper most bottom feeders will keep the bottom free of food. Ottos will feed on some algae. Other algae eaters, such as Flying foxes/True or Siamese Algae Eaters(SAE) will have a go in their early months.

At the end of the day the best cleaner is you :hey:

i have a tank about 40x20x20.. overkill for the fish? flying fox wi8ll be eaten by flowerhorn right? if its a abare tank its much easier to clean, but if there are lots of live plant, drift woods and others. how do you mentain cleanliness of the tank?
