Wat Are Tropical And Sub Tropical Regions

i was reading this fish sight on aqaurium plants and it said the plant came from tropical and sub tropical regions. can somebody telll me were these sub tropical and tropical regions are.

tropical regions are those that are within the tropic of cancer (23.5 degrees north latitude) and the tropic of capricorn (23.5 degrees south latitude)

sub tropical are those regions that are either just above/below the tropics or those inside the tropics that are high above the sea level in mountain streams etc.
