I was at walmart and decided I really should have some regular flakes. I was going to by Tetra, like I normally would, but saw Wardley and thought I would try them.

Well, the fish despise them. Oh, they eat them, but only about 1/4 of what they eat of the TetraColor Tropical Flakes. Which, as of this evening after feeding I am now having a Nitrite spike to due the fish not eating the wardley's. :(

Luckily I have some TetraColor on hand. I just need to give the fish a day to clean there tank (yes I did a water change. :) ) then switch back.

Fussy fish!! My fish eat everything I put in the tank.....even the dog eats the fishfood!!
Ditto.

I feed mine Wardley flakes once in a while, but I prefer Hikari or Omega One because I think they are better quality.

Nutrafin was the worst - it came with my first tank kit, and you should have seen the spit-out show that all fishes were performing when I fed one of these...

Tetra flakes were my 2nd purchase (from Walmart) and these were better. But ever since I purchased Hikari, OSI and NLS, Tetra dropped out of flavor as well. I ended up mixing Nutrafin and Tetra together (I also mixed the Aquarian sample as well - these are supposed to be good). They eat the mix better than the original brands... ;)

I don't know if wardley (or nutrafin) is a bad brand or if the fish just are not use to the new taste of the flakes. I use Tetra, Wardley, Nutrafin, some home made kind and a few others that I cannot remember the names of. I have six tanks full of different fish and each species seems to like a different brand.
My tetras were use to eating Nutrafin but once I ran out and switched over to Tetra, they did not like it and spat it out! Now they like tetra just fine.
My conclusion: fish must get use to the food you feed (it is not live worms or bugs so it will have to do).

I vary what I feed my fish, but I'll agree that mine don't seem to like the Wardley's stuff as well as other things. I don't have any set schedule for what I feed my fish each night... just whatever my hand lands on. My neons, rasboras, danios, and betta all seem to enjoy blood worms, tiny sinking cichlid pellets, flake food, or zooplankton. Of the flake foods, they like Omega One the best.... absolutely devour it. Of course, the danios and betta go crazy over zooplankton and bloodworms, but the neons just kinda "settle for it". "Oh well, it's floating around in front of me, I better eat it". ;)

Find a place that sells Omega One foods and try a can of them... see how your fish react.

i used to feed my gold fish wardley floating pellets and within 1 week i lost 2 of them to unknown causes. the water parameters were fine but the two fish had large masses growing out of their sides. i treated them with everything i could and nothing worked and i lost them. needless to say i don't feed my new fish wardley.

 This thread sure went somewhere. ;)

They may be picky and I do spoil them with twice a week either Freeze Dried Brine Shrimp or Tubifex worms. But I have been trying to feed them this for almost a week and they flat don't eat it. But put TetraColor Tropical flakes in and it's like a feeding frenzy.

hmmm my fish don't mind wardleys they eat it and seem to enjoy it, my gold barbs eat more of the wardleys flakes then they do the tetra brand freeze dried bloodworms... I dunno maybe my fish are just weird.

I haven't heard of Wardley's, but I am yet to find anything my fish won't eat! I do vary the dried foods I use on a day to day basis, though, my husband moans they get more variety than he does :D

In my cupboard I have Nutrafin Max, Tetra Prima, Aquarian flakes, Tetra Variety Wafers, JMC Catfish pellets, Hikari algae tablets, Hikari sinking wafers, Interpet freeze dried brine shrimp, and Interpet Freeze dried bloodworm. In my freezer I have Dutch Select frozen bloodworm, black and white mosquito larva, and tubifex worms. Not forgetting the cucumber, peas and lettuce!

:D

I use wardley shrimp pellets, and shrimp flakes they love them.

Shrimp Flakes seems to cloud water, so dont use them often, but they will finish that bottle

I personally use TetraMin Pro-Tropical Crisps, Hikari, and a few others. My fish were not into Wardley's fish food and it clouded the tank. Hikari is my favorite :) .
