Wanting to buy a Fahaka Puffer

Does anybody know of an online store that sells Fahaka Puffers that ships to the US? I'm trying to make room for a Fahaka, (I'm totally in love with Sir and Lady Minion's Martha.) but I can't find one anywhere in the east, central, south and north sections of Wisconsin at a Fish Store. Thanks!

Aww.. I'm sure Martha would be proud to know she's inspired a love for her fellow species.

I take it you do know what you're getting into though? I don't want to put you off as fahakas are wonderful fish, but they are very specialist. And I'm not just talking about the size they get to.

Sorry I can't help you find one in your area. It's a shame as there's several from the same "batch" Martha came from quite near us. But I don't think they even ship locally let alone to the US. Have you tried somewhere like Aquabid?

When you do find one, remember that myself and Sir will be happy to give you any help we can should you need it.

Thanks guys! Oh yes I know what I'm getting into. I have GSP's a few dwarfs and 1 figure-8 puffer at my parents' house. (I don't have enough room for all my critters at my house so I have most of my fish tanks at my parents house.) I have a 125 gallon for 1 right now so I was looking for a good place to buy. Thanks Lucky, I'll keep checking there to see if they have any later. Also, I know there's not much, but what have you heard that can be tank mates with a Fahaka? Thanks!

Yup, we have a common pleco with Martha to take care of the algae and clean up her dinnerplate.

That said, Martha has taken the odd chunk out of his fins and we have to keep a close eye on her attitude towards him. She could turn at any time so we may have to relocate him. If you do decide to add a pleco, choose one at least the same size as your fahaka and introduce them to the tank together. Allowing the fahaka to establish a territory before adding the pleco could lead to a nasty dispute.

Our pleco is very bold and steals Martha's prawn away from her sometimes. She is being unusually tolerant of his behaviour at the moment, but we always worry that one day she will just get too annoyed and cause some damage.

Apart from that, I really would not recommend keeping anything else with a fahaka. I do not personally know of anyone (on or offline) who has successfully kept any other species in the same tank.
