I have a 30Litre Biorb tank which i have had for 2 months now. Everything is running fine, my tank is well cycled and i have 5 fish, 4 blaCK neon tetra's and also 1 siamese fighing fish. Does anyone know if its safe for me to add another fish? and if so what type should i add? I only want to add one more, but i need a fish that is suitable and compatible with the fish i already have? Or is my tank too full for me to add anymore fish. Please can someone help me as im still a beginner with all of this

You should be looking to stock no more than 30cms of adult fish length in your biorb (1cm per litre is recommended and what I go by). Therefore, your total at the moment is around 23 cm at the moment, which could technically allow you a further 7 cm. I'd get another black neon tetra (they like to be in shoals of 6 minimum ideally) and leave it at that myself :D

the problem with bi-orbs is because of the unusual shape they actually have v little surface area, this affects the level of stocking and you should keep below the usual recommended limits. the filtration is also not brilliant which again reduces the amount of fish you can have.

i would say you are full and shoulf leave it as it is.

Agreed with MW.

Such a pretty glass shape and such a cool idea but sad that by curving back in at the top it really does reduce surface area which is so key in allowing higher gas exchange and greater oxygen content. I believe the original idea also more or less bypassed questions of good filtration but maybe that's not fair and I believe these can be quite nice for a single beta or very small stockings as frequently discussed in these forums.

~~waterdrop~~

I should add that it's best to stick to slim bodied fish in biorbs and biubes and yes, understocking is always best in these tanks :D
