Wanted: Siamese Algae Eater

Hi sorry I don't have any but I will offer some advice. SAE are great fish and indeed do work hard at clearing algae but only for a short while. As they grow (quickly and up to 3-4 inches) they realize that eating food you put in is much easier than algae. Also, the ones I had when reaching adult size started trying to feed off my Cory by sucking at their cover coat.

Better to try preventing algae build up that to get a temporary fix.

i believe its chinese algae eaters that do this not SAE!

otos and "real" sae are the fish of choice to keep algae levels down.
but you should address the root cause of the algae otherwise yer on a road to nowhere! ;0)

Excuse me but I do know what I am saying :sly:

CAE do indeed suck slime off fish as a matter of course but SAE will mainly graze on algae when young but not nearly as much when adults and certainly are not a main algae remedy

As far as the sucking of the Cory you may care to notice that I stated the ones I had did that and therefore not a general statement.

I take umbrage at the exclamation mark at the end of you comment :p

its a hair algae, ive removed most of it id say 80% and now it seems to be better and the reason was too much plant fets :(

But i'd still like to get that fish :)
