Wanted Red Devil Fish?

I have a large male red devil, and I did have the a slightly smaller female, they mated had there little babies!! and then one morning the little monkey (well fish actually) had munched his beloved.. So if i would like a med/large female to replace her if anyone has one going? for sale or free!!

If they are already mated/adult etc he will prob kill anything else you put in there mate,although i could be wrong.

I find Maidenhead Aquatics stores brilliant for large Cichlids for good prices.

That is what Cichlids do, smash there mates into breeding again, if the female is not ready the male will keep bashing her till she can take no more, if you do find him a 2nd mate have a devider at the ready or you will be doing threads like this every few months.

not all Cichlids are like this, its hit or miss, you get pairs of say red devils that are happy living with there mates all the time, then there are the ones that are wife killers and want to push them into breeding all the time.

Porton Pet and Aqu have some "MIDAS" in stock, but with all red devil or midas 99.99% of them are a mix/cross of both fish.

Thanks for the replies thats interesting to know... So that then makes me think what can I put in with the red devil instead? Its a 180 litre tank with one big fish a four small red devils? Or will the big fella mash the rest?

thats prob the reason the male killed the female, there evil fish and thats not alot of space, dont put anything else in with him

Yes the fish needs double that on its own sadly.
