Fish Fanatic
Hi all
I have had these smashing fish before, unfortunately within a month they died, they got whitespot within a few days of putting them in the tank and despite being treated over the course of the full month, they just got worse and worse until the poor things were covered. I want to give the clown loaches another go in my tank but am now a little wary
My water stats are always nitrite 0, nitrate 20, ammonia 0, ph 7.6. I was wondering if you could give me suggestions to minimize the chances of them getting whitespot. I have even seen them in fish stores with whitespot and have been told it is a common problem. I must admit, I did have an aggressive albino shark at the time but he is now gone, could this have been a big contributor?
Current tank mates are:
BGK - don't worry, will be getting a wider tank for him around March next year
King tiger plec (grows to around 5" long)
2 Kribs
5 chocolate gouramies
5 neons
5 guppies
2 pencil fish
5 sailfin mollies.
EDIT: I have a juwel vision 180 and feed a mix of blood worm, brine shrimp and garlic, flake and algae flakes.
