Fish Crazy
Hi,
I currently have a 25 litre marine aquarium that is cycling with a damsel fish and two shrimp, as per the LFSs instructions. It was bought as a 'marine package' including ocean rock, sand hydrometer, heater, etc. basically everything that is needed to get started. It's a 'fish only' set up, which I am happy with for now.
However, the aquarium didn't come with a stand, so I ended up buying a bigger juwel 90 stand that is 2ft in length. I am considering buying a new glass tank that will fit the stand perfectly which would be LxWxH: 24 x 12 x 18.
Anyway, my aim is to keep a few decent small fish, such as an orchid dottyback or gramma, perhaps two clown fish, maybe keep the yellow tail damsel I have, and maybe a goby along with the two ornamental shrimp I currently have in the tank.
I'd like to be able to keep some corals in the future, but it's not a must.
Question: there are some very cost effective arcadia t8 marine lights available on ebay. They're literally 50% the price of t5s. Are they any good? Will I regret purchasing them in the long run?

Also I am contemplating a nano skimmer, but wanted to know if this was absolutely needed if I did a religious 10% ready-mixed-RO-saltwater change each week?
Here's the link to the nano skimmer that I may, or may not purchase: -

Is mechanical filtration needed or would a skimmer be sufficient? I'd be looking to avoid live rock if at all possible.
