I have a Juwel rio 180 and have plastic plants at the moment but would like to end up with real plants. I have Java moss on one rock which I added last week but now I have no idea what else to have.
I have sand at the bottom of my tank and the lights that came with it so I would like easy to grow plants that don't need any special equipment or lighting added.
I keep looking at the pictures of your tanks here and some of them are amazing and puts my tank to shame so all advice would be appreciated. Thanks

give me more info about you lighting and how much are you willing to spend on a planted tank

I have looked on the Juwel website and it says there are two 30 watt tubes, they came with the tank so I figured they must be ok. As for how much I would like to spend I have no idea but I would most likely change to real plants slowly rather than all at once.
Hope this helps.

do you want a high-tech or a low-tech tank and after your answer we can start from there.

I guess I would go low-tech as it sounds less complicated.
I always have quite high nitrates even after a water change so I thought live plants would help lower this aswell as looking much better.
