hi,
in my 5 gallon plant tank I have snails.

now I'm not interested in adding a fish or a letuce to get their numbers down I want to get rid of them for good.

reason is in my main 20 gallons I have no snails and want to keep it that way so I want a chemical that will kill the snails in my 5 gallon for good. if it takes a month so be it I'm not in a rush.

so I would kill the snails in the 5 gallon then wait few months and then wash the plants and move them over to my main or by then I may have a 40..50 gallons.

so does anyone know a product I can use to kill the snails something I can buy in stores of course and not destroy all the plants? I have just plants in my 5 gallons... and snails!! ARGGG!!

thanks.

It is not a very good idea to be adding snail killing chemicals to your tank. There are many other ways to get rid of them which do not involve using chemicals. These chemicals usually contain Copper Sulphate which can hurt your future fish, instead you could simply put a jar with some slighty gone off lettuce into the tank at night time, in the morning you should have collected a few snails, repeat this every day along with manually taking any that you can see out. Also you could buy an assasin snail. These look nice in your tank and will get rid of snails without harming your plants or fish, they are only around 2cm long and are very fun to watch!

Good luck getting rid of em!
