Right now in my ten gallon I have 3 x-ray tetras and 2 cory catfish. I LOVE the bleeding heart tetras. Would the fish school together? And how many bleeding hearts can I add?
I'd suggest you get proper schools of the fish you already have instead. Both the tetras and the cories would like more friends. But, the trouble is that 10gal is on the small side for cories (IMO), so getting more of them might not be a good idea.
I don't know if the two kinds of tetras school together. The main problem I can see is that if I remember correctly the bleeding heart tetras get about 2.5" long. If so, they also are too large for a 10gal, especially if you want a proper school of them. Sorry.
Yea thats a pretty good idea on moving the cories. Its a shame though because cories really promote good hygene on the bottom of the tank, as far as left over food and stuff goes. But hey, the cories will probably be happier in the 30...I know I would
Just in case you didn't know those goldfish tend to make a mess so if you don't vac enough the bottom can get kinda foul and hurt the cories. Their whiskers or barbs will start to fall off.
Yah, that sounds like a good idea. If you manage to find more X-rays, I'd say 6-8 of them would be fine in a 10gal. Oh, and if you still want the bleeding hearts, maybe you can put a school in the 30 gal?
