i live in england and we hav no walmarts over here and i was wondering whether anyone cud show me pics of the conditions they keep bettas in as i am curious and i want to compare them with some of the horrible standards i have seen bettas kept in over here

Most of mine I took home to try to nurse back to health because they were near death.

i see bettas kept in small jam jars of about 15cm in diameter but they never have messed up fins , they are always healthy so i cant complain about their conditions just the size of their homes.

Yeah - here our WalMarts actually have somewhat decent sized cups, at least in comparison to other stores, but the problem is that they don't fill them very full, the water gets rancid, and the fish are just neglected.

I'd rather see them in teensy little jam jars, if healthy, than the way some of them are kept around here.

my betta is in a one gallon (just under actually) with gravel and nothing but water.
is there any kind of live floating plant i can have and what is it called

Oh yes - they LOVE plants.
The kind that float that they love to be on (that I particularly like) is either cabomba or hornwort. Either are pretty commonly found in fish stores and chain stores. Just rinse it off a bit when you get it, and toss it in. They LOVE to hang around in/on/under/around, etc. it!
