I have gone to Walmart and looked in the kio and large Comet tank and seen 3 male bettas in it. I see it regularly. The tank is big maybe 20 gallons. Why arent the bettas killing themselves but are just moping around the multiple filters? can you keep bettas togeter as long as the tank is big?

Knowing Walmart, they're probably just too sick/weak to fight.

You are probably right about the too weak to fight.... As far as keeping them together if the tank is big enough,... no way.... that's only the case for the girls.. argghhh walmart just ticks me of soo bad!

City and state of this walmart, if you don't mind!
I'd like to give them a call and tell them to separate them!

That makes me IRATE.

omg how dumb do you have to be to get hired to work in a walmart fish dept? go in and yell at them until they take em out.

Dont worry i personally seporated the bettas for the little old woman who works in the beauty supply issle and pet issle. Ill keep doing it to everytime i go.
Still give us the info of the walmart, so we can call and tell these people what the deal is. especialy bettamomma, she's an expert at dealing with walmart dummies :)

:look: Still though, why not just post up the information...never hurts to have lots of complaints coming in....that's how you get things done. 40 heads are always better then just 1.

OMG... sickos! I cannot stand Wal*Mart. I was just there today, and ALL of the Bettas had BAD Finrot. They were all boys, and their color was totally sick... they were probably once pretty fish, but they were all washed out and barely alive. Their little cups had 1/2 inch of grossness on the bottom. I stood around waiting for an Aquarium specialist to come by, looked at everything, stood some more, and no one was ever there... I had to walk up to customer service and complain to them. There was 1 dead Betta :( those people are disgusting.

There are bettas at my Walmart who have been there at least two weeks without a water change and without being fed.... the bottoms of their cups are completely covered in brown gunk and the water is tinted yellow from all the crap.

You can call my Walmart if you want, BettaMomma! ;) They don't take good care of any of their fish, and as far as I can tell, all I accomplished by complaining is that they actually wipe the water stains off the fronts of the tanks now. :|
The fish are almost on the opposite end of the store from the other pet supplies, so usually there's no one back there at all.

I feel kinda stupid about complaining myself, since I'm probably the only one who ever does, lol.
