I went to walmart yesturday and looked at the bettas. All in dirty water and what not. I found a little brown betta all the way in the back. He is the ugliest thing i ever saw. Well hes so ugly hes kinda cute. You know what I mean. And i know no one will buy him. Do you think i can get him and put him in my freshwater tank. I have guppies and ballon mollies in it oh and a batch or 4 fry. I'm scared if i get him he will eat the fry.Another possiblity is that I put him in a one gallon tank. My room Is always warm sometimes hot so if i do get him and he wont work for the 10 gallon do i have to use a heater? Tnks for helping!
Probably a no-go on the tank with the mollies and such, but GO FOR IT with the 1 gallon tank. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when you find little uglies at the store that no one else wants BECAUSE they are uglies. Sometimes when you bring them home, the turn out to be the most gorgeous fish you could have ever dreamed of.
If your room stays in the mid to upper-70s he will be perfectly fine without a heater. Just get him a nice soft little plant to lay on, and make sure you cover his tank with something that allows air to go thru and you're set!
