I think wales deserved everything they got, triple crown, championship trophy, and the grand slam.
At the start of the match today i wasn't really thinking wales were going to do it, first half not much happened. a few penalties awarded to wales which James Hoook missed, but then he went off for steven jones who was on top form. Second half it all changed, shane williams played like he always does, skipping past everyman that stepped infront of him, his reward was a try intercepted from a terrible french pass, in the middle of the second half. it was well deserved for his hard work.

martin williams scored a try on his 50th cap, which then practically finished the game, no way back for france.
Even though france played well, i don't think there was anything going to get in the way of the welsh teams dreams.

Well done to the welsh team, but mostly to warren gatlan, he has done a great job :good:

What do you all think of the game(s) today?

Well done wales!Awesome play, the french didn't know what to do lol.
If only we didn't choke against wales
On a plus side england played pretty good too.I think it's time to get rid of balshaw and give young matt tait a go, he has the pace and skill, although not the experience that hasn't really helped balshaw. He proved himself in the world cup and last game as a replacement for Paul sackey, scoring a try.
Saying france played well is completely untrue, they had a lot of different players and wales had a 0.8lb advantage over each person in the scrum (which proved in the game to be a great advantage, managing to get turn overs).
If it were the usual french team wales would of had a lot more to handle, but still would of deserved to win.

I wouldn't gloat if I was Welsh!!! lol

no offence intended

well done

The taffs did well, though I can't help but feel they have peaked a few months too late. Most people talk about wanting to build the performances to get a good World Cup run, rather than go out to a second tier team in the RWC before peaking and winning while everyone else is rebuilding ;)

On a more serious note, the new coaches at Wales have done a good job, we should never have let Edwards go to join up with Gatland. I think the worst thing is that Ireland played so bad we started to look good against them, which means there is a chance that the incompetent Ashton and his love affair with Vickery and Balshaw will continue.

If we ditch Ashton and get in Jake White or Eddie Jones (or even both, as some have put forards as a potential) and let them carve out a new team then we have a good three years to build for the next World Cup, especially as Edwards seems to be hinting he would like to come into the England set up at the appropriate level.

This is not sour grapes because we did so bad in this year's 6N (we have hardly set the world alight in the last 5 years) but the 6N after a RWC should always be about rebuilding the team. It is natural that a large number of players will retire after a RWC and some just won''t hack it in 4 years time (Vickery anyone?). Therefore we should look to blooding youngsters at the expense of results. Look at the original Tour from Hell, we got spanked, but then we rebuilt and had the last laugh when a number of that team were on the pitch to raise the Webb Ellis.

Herein lies the true glimmer for Wales, a number of the team that did so well this year are fairly young, meaning there is a good chance (and with the current coaches, little reason not) to do well until the RWC. The tour to South Africa will be interesting to see how far the Welsh have come, as will seeing if Wales can adapt once teams learn how to beat the rush defence (chips over the line).

All in all, it makes for some fun times between here and the Lions 09 tour :good:
