Vortech Mp40w Propeller Pump

Vortech pump is gonna be too much for a 75 alas. They're more suited to 6' tanks, MAYBE a 4' 120g but thed 75 is likely too small. They are fantastic pumps and have very good wavemaking properties though. I'd definitely approve of one for a big tank.

You'd probably be better off getting a Tunze with a controller for that size tank. LIttle less flow, more manageable.

I thought that it was adjustable from 300 gal/hr to 3,000 gal/hr. That way if I ever want to go larger I have the power. I really like that it takes up littel space in the tank with no internal wires.

It is, but the wave action isn't really adjustable on the upper end. It cycles between those values you posted and when it's pushin 3000gph, it'll throw water everywhere :). A bunch of people in my local club have tried it on 75's and 90's and ended up selling it off... Maybe they made the controller more user friendly in the past 6 months or so, but the last time I visited this, it was all pre-sets with max flow.

You're right though, the no internal wires and small footprint is nice :)

And so I stand corrected Sea Turtle. Just went into my LFS and asked the owner about them. He said yeah the early models were not that adjustable but any newer model is REALLY adjustable. He even put one on a nano and dialed it down to demonstrate. Very impressive. Now where did I put that spare kidney? ;)
