Was just preparing to move these heaters, trying to rotate the heater inside the protective ribing, when I managed to twist the outer black cap by itself. I then discovered the red platic rod attached to the thermostat knob had sheared...

I've managed to set the thermostat to the correct temp using a small screwdriver, but I'm worried if the waterproof seal has been comprimised?

Going to install the non-broken one for now and hope someone on here may have had a similar experience they can divulge.

If that visitherm is a "stealth" model, turn it in for a new heater. The stealth model is being recalled. My LFS took care of it for me by simply giving me a new heater when I turned in my old stealth. They did all the paperwork with the manufacturer.

This happened to me with a stealth a long while back.
I glued it together and returned it. lol

Stop using that thing ridewake. The stealth recall will replace your heater with a new, good working, heater of the same size at no charge. The things were causing fires and short circuits so they are being replaced free of any charge.
