Visitherm 100w Heater Broken?

Hi all, found the tank at 30.2 degrees today with the heater still on.

Done a quick water change, it sitting at 28 now but I fear the thermostat is dead

With the heater fully submerged, if I turn the thermostat up, the heater kicks in at 26 however when I turn the thermostat down, it stays on until it hits about 18?!?

Can someone let me know if there is a way to test it please??

My visitherm did this as well, and only 8 months old. I was a bit disappointed, as I bought the visitherm as it was supposed to be the most reliable brand (PFK). Because it comes with a 5 year warranty, I took it back and got a Fluval tronic instead.

I wouldn't try and fix it, it definately seems to be malfunctioning. Take it back to the shop and get a replacement.
