Hi, first of all I would like to congratulate everyone in this forum for the magnificant info that is available.
Getting to the problem that I am facing:
1)one of the tubes pins have come away and the end cap where the tube's pin sit is burned.
2)what could cause that?
now I have removed the affected end cap but where can I buy a replacemnt the manufacturer is "vossloh-schwabe"
3)where can I buy cheaper t5 high lite tubes from
4)how do I know if the ballast has broke?

thank you in advance

2) A electrical arc, maybe the too contacts got water on them and conducted? Or the tube had a problem which caused it
3) cheap t5's, have a look at http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/, assuming your in the uk
4) Try a new tube or if you have a multimeter (be careful) test for AC current between the 2 electrical points at either end cap

Hope that helps

thank you Kaivalagi :good:

what i've done now is connected the two terminals without the flourescent tube to make a circut so that the other one comes on but after 5 -8 minutes it cut off, do you know why that happens? could it be that the ballast is faulty ?:shout:

If I understand correctly you connected what a bulb would connect on one if the tube fixtures and the other one works?

Some twin ballasts only work if both tubes are connected, that could be the reason for needing to do what you've done? It might not be faulty....
