Visi-jet Protein Skimmer

I'd like to get a HOB skimmer for my future 29g FOWLR. Is the Visi-Jet any good? The reviews were positive and it's cheap, too.

If not, any comparably priced (+/- 30$) skimmers for a nano?

I had one years ago. It worked ok but you couldn't take the impellor apart to clean or replace. I didn't like it personally.

I guess I'll try to save up enough for the AquaC Remora.

Its really the only reliable HOB skimmer that won't overflow and spit skimmate on your floor and will actually do some skimming. Other offerings from companies like Jebo, Seaclone, Red Sea, CPR, and others don't skim well without extensive modifications. And the only other decent HOB out there is the Coralife Superskimmer, but they're a little tempermental and may "go nuts" and litter your floor with water/skimmate.

yeah i would go with a deltec HOB (europe) or... if you must... an aquaC remora (america)... or a tunze 9002 nano (america and europe)

The stuff in the parentheses are locations where they are easier to find. Tunze is easier to find in europe, but they can also be easy to find in the US. I rarely see deltecs, and AquaC are becoming more common in america.
