Video Of M. Lacustris Rainbowfish Changing Colors

hey guys. for those of you who have kept M. lacustris (aka Turquoise Rainbowfish), you know the best part about these fish is their ability to constantly change the colors of their scales.
my guy unfortunately is coming down with something, which is keeping him calm - this gave me a chance to take an up close video as he does the color changing that i love him so much for!

Nice vid! I tried to capture mine doing the same but my camera is only so so and it didn't come out as well as yours did. Your guy is getting quite the deep body. Is he about 4 inches now?

i haven't had much luck measuring him by means of putting a measuring tape in front of the tank. i guess sometime soon i should net him and measure him. i would estimate anywhere from 3-4" total length.i've only had him for 13 months...so he's less than 2 years old still...can't wait till he's fully grown

I can't wait until mine are fully grown too. Mine are about 15 months old now and they are starting to get deeper bodied but they aren't there yet. Such fascinating fish these lacustris are!
