Decided to do a bit of a rescape... With the focus on more of a scape rather than a jungle. It's going to take some getting used to after looking at a fully planted tank.

Decided to use a piece of Sumatran root and my branch from the last scape as the main features. Also used some white rock from the first scape too.

Fish have stayed the same

1 Thorichthys Ellioti
10 Harlequin Rasbora's
6 Red Eyed Tetra's
3 Bronze Corydoras
5? Bristlenoses
5? Apple Snails

Anyway, here are a few pics... Pretty poor i know

That looks nice mate, it could do with something along the back from left to that stone in the middle at the back. Leaving the pathway open as you can make that your main feature.

looks good though.

Stems, such at any Hygro and the such. Maybe some Crypt Balansae as well.

I will have some stem cuttings soon mate in donations. I'm sure you'll like the Vallis once its all nice and tall mate, I hated mine till it grew in.

Looking good mate but im struggling to see any real difference once grown in from the other scape  .... I agree with Ian that the back left to middle needs some cover but with the plant mass growing... im not sure it will be much different than the last scape (style wise) and it still looking very junglely?..... i honestly prefer the other scape, it looked much fresher to the eye.

Me personally would have gone for a complete change and removed the large wood across the tank, this still being there is gonna limit any other look than what your last one was because it's just such a focal point.

Apart from that mate it looks good, just not as nice as the last IMHO..sorry  :/

I see what you mean about the branch, but i haven't really got anywhere else to put it and it took me ages to tie the moss on

The scape is very different though. Maybe the pictures don't show it, but it is very low. I'm happy with the Crypt side, but i messed u the root as i wanted it facing 'into' the tank but i had already tied all the moss on without properly thinking about it.

Still considering what to do with the 'stemy' side, i'm not totally happy with it. I would like to try and create a carpet of some kind, probably using moss as it would probably be the easiest thing to use in my tank.

Decisions decisions...

Don't get me wrong mate, it looks good... i can see that the scape is different.... when i referred to if not been much different... it was more the end result of the scape still looking very jungely once grown rather than what you said you was going for "less of a jungle, more an actual scape" i think it was you anyways lol.

As i said, if it was me and wanting a completely different look.... i would have removed the big branch completely and would have gone for a distinct style..... you have certainly shown you can grow plants so it would have been nice to see your scaping side come out a little bit more.

Ok, I will remove the branch, you come and scape it. :D deal?

The problem I have is that I have limited plants, so maybe I should invest in some different ones? :/ if so then I would appreciate some suggestions.

;)

TBH i think you need more hardscape than you do plants or decide on a hardscape to distinguish a style. Have a think on how you want it to look style/scape wise.... (jungle ;)/island/triangle/iwagumi)... something inbetween?... then go from there.

It may mean buying some extra stuff :good: ..... but i'm sure you will relish that even if the misses dont lol ;)

No Crypts? Are you maaaaaaaaaaad? :D Can't really be bothered with the co2... :/ lazy i know...

LOL.... adding pressurised though does take some limiting factors away... especially when certain plants are so beautiful :)

You have got an unhealthy attraction to crypts ;) :p..... bit like me with plecs i guess

So do you have any idea on what you actually plan on doing? or have something you fancy trying?

BTW mate, dont change it because of what ive said though...ultimately its you that has to be happy and not what anybody else likes.
