hi all
recently I sent an email to the Royal Collage of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
asking for a list of all of their registered members that have a speciality in fish and fish husbandry.
below is their reply

Hope this helps someone ;)

In this months PFK there's also an up to date Fishkeeping Directory which has a lists of vets willing to treat fish.

aye but it's worth asking your local vet too, our's isn't listed on either of those, but when I've taken the cats in before I asked about it and they said they're happy to prescribe for fish, all I have to do is bring in a photo of the fish showing the symptoms.... bit open to abuse as I could get any pic off the net I guess but at least they'll do it. :)

Yep, as Miss Wiggle says, it's still worth asking your local vet. I picked one at random from our local phone book last weekend, as my angelfish were suffering from callamanus worms. I wanted to try and get hold of some levamisole which is only available frmo vets, as there's no reliable treatment for these parasites available from pet shops in the UK. My vet could order it but told me it would take a few days, so they contacted a specialist in fish who recommended panacur instead which they were able to provide immediately. They prepared me a small bottle and only charged me two pounds for the privilege. Fantastic help and spot on with their advice. :good:

The vet I worked for in Indiana saw the occasional fish. She sees all exotics, well except for skunks and monkeys.
