hi all.
just came back from the vets and their std consultation rate has increased from £20 to £28
(probably due to the revamp they have just had)
I just wondered how much other people pay for a consultation.
oh don't worry, it was just for a worming injection nothing serious.

if you are USA/Canada or Australia just double the pound amount, for this poll it makes no real odds.

I (my mum) takes all our pets to the local RSPCA thingy and its £7.50, then however much the meds are. If we use the privet vets then its like £25 or something

Well, for the vet to see it alone is 50$... (25 pounds)Plus about 20$ (10 pounds) for the worming. We have a walk-in fee, which basically means even seeing the vet alone without any shots is 50$.

I was under the impression that the RSPCA would only treat for £7.50 in emergency cases and when you really can not afford the normal vet? Didn't think it was something that anyone could walk into. If you can, it's probably worth for us to take the vets to the RSPCA just for twice a year check ups or so.

As for the vet we usually go to, I believe he charges around £23 for a consultation. Must say I can understand why a lot of people walk out afterwards 'forgetting' to pay. Seen that happen an aweful lot. Then again, that's probably what's putting the price up for us. I'm just glad that the pets are insured and that at least the expensive meds are covered.

the RSPCA clinics are for those on low incomes(unemployed, students etc ) and those getting small pensions.
if you lie about your financial status you could very well deprive someone who truly needs the service.
please remember the RSPCA is a charity so act charitable

I went to the vets with a mate and his dog to get a few ticks removed,
and worming. I think It cost £21.95, or close to that.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I live in the country, well not a city

It might be more innercity though? -_-

Just a thought,

Maximus
