Hi all, I have a jewel vision 260 which houses a few various community fish, over the last few days I've seen some very odd behaviour from my silver dollars!! I had 4 of them in my tank all about 3" in diameter, they were all completely fine up until 3 days ago when I noticed 1 of the was swimming in a very strange way,it was if it was all confused swimming upside down, on it's side, basically all over the place. If I go near the tank it jolts and ends up crashing into something very hard, now heres the really strange bit, this only happens when the lights in the tank go out!!! The first dollar to do this didn't make it as I had to remove him as he was lying flat on the bottom of my tank after 2 days!! Please help as this has now spread to a second one, I really hope I don't lose anymore as I've had these over 3 years now! I've done a 50% water change today to try and help. Thanks in advance

Silver dollars are easy to spook. It might be an internal infection, but i dont know.

My angels swim on there sides when the tank light is off but the room lights are on, I put it down to being confused as to which way is up due to the light entering the tank from the side?

my friend had some silver dollars and they were always doing strange things, and as mentioned were ridiculously easy to freak out. turning lights off, or turning them on, feeding, cleaning, basically anything he done that was in or near the tank, they would start bombing around hitting the side of the tank. idiots.

pretty much sums up my experience of Dollar behaviour, too.
