Very interesting fish.

I've spent the last half hour watching my pondfish.The american fat-head golden minnows are spawning like crazy.Mine always lay sticky clutches on the undersides of lily leaves and guard them against the goldfish that are huge compared to them but they fight them off and protect both eggs and hatchling wriggler fry.I always see swarms of tiny fry every year.
If anyone is looking for something abit more interesting,behaviourwise i'd recommend them.

If you live in America, I assume they're not too hard to come by. Can you get them in bait shops? My LFS doesn't sell any natives.

I'm in the UK and they are not hard to find as lots of shops sell them.They usually sell for about £1 each.
They do tend to multiply alot as my pond is full of them and i only started with 3.Not even several inches of winter ice affects them.
