Folks,
For those itching for some new fish, I got a very interesting e-mail from Wildwoods this morning. They have some very nice freshwater and brackish stuff coming on sale soon. Specifically:
Toxotes microlepis
Toxotes chatareus
Datniodes undecimradiatus
Datniodes campbelli
Hemirhamphodon pogonognathus
Hemirhamphodon kapuasensis
Nomorhamphus liemi
Zenarchopterus buffonis
Ambassis agrammus
For those into halfbeaks, the 22 cm, freshwater to marine Zenarchopterus buffonis will be a real find. Sort of like a needlefish, but smaller, and not predatory at all. Nervous, so best kept in a species tank. Hemirhamphodon kapuasensis is a gorgeously coloured little (5 cm) species with bright red stripes on the flanks. Hemirhamphodon are very rarely traded, so to get two species is quite something.
Toxotes microlepis is a true freshwater archer, though it will do fine in low-end brackish, and Ambassis agrammus is a very cute little fresh or low-end brackish glassfish with an extra-tall dorsal fin.
These fish are still in quarantine, so give Wildwoods a ring before making the trip.
Anyway, I thought I'd share the news with TFF.
Cheers,
Neale
