One of my platys i catch trying to rest on its tail. i called the lfs and they said that my ph is too high. around 7.5 and to add salt. my female platy purchased 3 days ago just developed a type of whitish growth. the lfs said it was a ph burn. please help

i have also noticed that they kind of swiim then freeze up and drift then kinda shake it off and repeat the process

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY PLATIES?
it shouldn't be the ammonia or nitrate because my danios would go first and they are perfectly fine.

please help

Are you doing regular water changes? I find that my plattys "hang" around when their water is due to be changed.

your pH is not too high. i've never heart of pH burn.

you say that it shouldn't be ammonia and nitrite but do you know their readings?

ph burn userally accurs wen ur ph is rely out of wack, that couldnt be it. iv seen plattys rest like that b4, its userally because of high ph or water temp. amonia will do that 2. check ur water. the *ph burn* is probably just a fungi.
