I recently aquired a tank and with it a gourami and some other fish. The gourami has 2 ventral fins or feelers on on side of his body. I have never seen that before and was wondering if it was abnormal.

What kind of gourami is it? And feelers both on the same side? Maybe it's a flounder imitator? j/k... maybe it's a handicap?

its a three spot gourami. it has two feelers on one side and one on the other.

that are what gouramis ventrals are, nearly all of the gourami speacies have them. they use them to feel around becaus ein the wil most live in murky water so they use them to feel around. :)

Maybe it's a new and improved gourami!

My gourami use them as swords! Then attack each other after the fencing is done with!
:p My three spot (Guido) uses them to feel up the other fish... (cheap thrills) ;)
