well, i've been driving my dad insane about this so i figure i might as well drive everyone else insane as well
he's finishing up the stand (just has to stain the top bit) and cleaned out the filter (Fluval 403) and now is being technical about everything! wants specific lighting (he's already got some good lights) and a titanium heater (doesn't want to see a big lunky heater in the background) since it's going to be planted (densely) he's using kitty litter and normal gravel as substrate and covering it in leaves (we need some help here!) the plants will probably be Vallisnera Gigantea, Java Moss, Java Fern and Amazon Swords. the fish are two Rams, a boatload of Neon Tetras, some Golden Otos, Shrimp and some African Dwarf Frogs (frogs live in the Amazon too...) my brother might also stick a few compatible Venezuelan pairing fish in to.
the most work we have to do on the tank is clean it! since it's been home to two Guinea Pigs and a Ferret we need to scrape the sealant out and replace it and scrub the dried pee off with aquarium salt and water! that's my job, since they were my animals. oy.
just had to share, i'm going to explode once we get these fish in, my sigs gonna be two miles long! (yes, i'm naming all the Neons, Otos, Shrimp and Frogs!)
