I just wanted to offer sympathy, but I don't know what you did wrong. (Or if you did anything wrong) My last fish died w/ fuzzy fungus on him too, and I gave him excellent care.

:rip: Velvet

I am sure it was nothing you did ... if you were able to nurse him through all that, then maybe it was just too much for him to get through :byebye:

he didn't die with the fuzzy stuff on him he completely got rid of it and died 2 days later! and his water was cold because my mom turned on the AC

there r many cases like that, my old betta, neptune, was almost cured from dropsy, than, he died. i miss him, he was one of those rainbow cambodian bettas.

I just lost my first and favorite betta boy to columnaris. Are you sure Velvet didnt have columnaris? Could be that. Sounds like Orchid's symptoms.

Not necessarily true.
They can actually live for quite a while with columnaris, especially if you were treating him for other htings - it could have been warding off the columnaris just enough to keep him going.

Regardless - I'm really sorry for your loss... I know you did everything you could do for him, and I'm sure he appreciated everything. I have a feeling that the swing in temperature might have been too much for him. Fighting off so many illnesses at once time is really stressful on their little bodies.

So long, little Velvet.
