Charlie's gone thru his full treatment of Maracide and he's still freaking out like he's itching like crazy. He's wigging out and scraping on stuff just like before.

Does anyone know if it's safe to retreat immediately with Maracide?
I'm going to do a 100% w/c today and load it up on salt, then figure out what to do.
He was given his last dose of it yesterday for the first round of it.

Sorry, I have no clue. But Bettamomma, you know a lot. More than you think you do. Trust your instincts, I don't think you could hurt a betta if you tried. :fun:

I dunno, I would swear by coppersafe. It's very stable, so it would theoretically treat the water for a full month. I put 1/4 - 1/2 a dose in with their water changes as a preventative, and haven't had a problem with either ich or velvet yet. :D

*knocks on wood. ;) *

Flautist, I'd be careful if I were you. You could build up your fish's immunity to that stuff, and it won't work when they have a problem.

Awww.. thanks for the kind words.
I did once send a betta flying down thru a drainpipe, though. -_-

heh heh!

I have Coppersafe on hand here - I wonder if after this w/c I should give that a try...

One other thing I was wondering if anyone knows -
I have read that parasites (I DESPISE THEM!!!!) can leave red marks on the fish's skin from their teeth biting into the skin. Does this same thing happen on their fins too? Cuz he's got red marks on his fins...
