I've decided to shut down all but one of my tanks which means that I've got a fair few for sale. All are now empty and available for collection from Luton, Bedfordshire. I'd consider meeting or delivering within a 20 mile radius for a small sum on the smaller tanks (i.e the ones that only need one person to load) but the larger (180L+) tanks are collection only. Most of the tanks have Argos play sand in there - you're welcome to it if you want it, if not I'll empty them prior to collection. And sorry for the quality of some of the pic's - I'll be giving the tanks a clean prior to sale, most have been in use until recently.
I will be doing a separate thread soon for equipment (I've got various rock, bog wood, internal filters etc) but anyone getting a tank will have first dibs on it. So if you're looking to set up one of these tanks from scratch and need a filter/heater etc, let me know - I've probably got what's needed.
In size order:
340L tank and stand - £50.
This is a 48x24x18(H) tank with sliders on the top. It was built with rays in mind and as such it's deeper than it is tall. It comes with a stand but as you can see from the photo's it isn't a display stand. Perfectly functional though, and supports the tank with no problems. I can't see any marks or scratches on the tank itself but it is more of a fish room tank.
I've also got a 4ft light unit with a working bulb and reflectors. It's not in a luminaire - I just have it hanging from shelving brackets fixed into the wall above the tank. That'll be for sale shortly.
Juwel Rio 180L with stand - dark wood - £100.
Good parts first. The stand and surrounds of the tank are in good condition and is fine as a display tank. However the light unit doesn't work (and I don't have time to do the fix described here but I gather it's a pretty straightforward fix. And there is some scratching to the glass (as shown in the third picture. If you get up close you can see it when the tank is full of water, but it was in my front room for years and I only noticed the scratches when I looked for them.
105L tank - £15.
30x12x18(H). No noticeable scratches or marks to the glass. There was a crack that was watertight but I covered it in aquarium sealant and it's (still) watertight.
125L tank and stand (stand in need of repair) - £20.
(Photo's to follow 14/11/11
36x12x18(H). The tanks itself is in good condition and free of any scratches that I can see. The stand needs some work however. I built it myself and I'm not any good at DIY, so it's listing towards the wall. It was in this state for about 6 months (full, in use) without any problems but it needs a bit of work to improve it to be sure it won't collapse at some point.
85L tank and stand - £15.
36x12x12. The tank has no noticeable scratches. The stand is a bit of a bodge job - it's fully functional and fine for a fish room, but the stand is shorter than the tank. I've nailed a suitably sized piece of fablon covered MDF over the top and it works fine, it just doesn't look brilliant. The nails do stop the doors opening but if sawed through or bent out of the way there should be enough clearance to open the doors again.
65L tank and stand - £20.
Tank and stand both in good condition.
25/35L (?) hexagon tank - £5.
In good condition, but I don't know the capacity. It's about 12 inches tall but I don't know how to calculate the capacity. I used to keep a betta and a few ember tetras in there without it looking cramped.
