Hi,

Thought id share this sad story.

I have a pair of jewel cichlids who follow each other all day long. Dont interact with other fish. Between them, they must have had a million babies!.

On valentines day i went to feed them and didnt see the female jewel. I thought she was probably looking after another batch of eggs in their corner. That evening still nothing and the male was swimming around like mad.

Checked sunday morning and saw a red mouth poking out the sand. Yep she was dead. Put her into the recycle bin.

The whole of that day, the male was near white and just sitting on the floor in their corner. Wouldnt even move at feeding time. Got no friends.

May have to find him a new missues.

Poor little guy, diffently needs a new ocmpanion.

To make it worse, when i pulled out her body, she was full of eggs!

Recycle bin? how do you recycle a fish?

Anyways she might have gotten sick and he could have it. Check it out.

Awww Poor little fishy. :byebye:

But life must go on............ Get him a sweet young thing to make him forget his loss.

Recycle bin is the one you put paper and plastics etc. I didnt like the idea of putting my fish in the bin with all that carp in there. But couldnt be bother to bury.

he aint got bloat (doesnt eat enough). He moving around now. Just upset i reckon (if fish can get upset).

Thing is i dont want to end up with another male! Down to the fish shop saturday.
