I have read that if you're only going to be gone a few days, it's ok not to have anyone feed your fish? What to you guys think? See sig for my tank and species.

Also, I assume I shouldn't keep the light on in the tank when I'm gone? I can keep the blinds open in the room they're in.

Thanks.

they should be ok maybe do a 15% water change before u leave and if u r really worried u could get one of those weekend feeders...but they do sometimes cloud up the water a tad

Those guys should be just fine for two or three days without food.

Heck, I only see my frog eat about twice a week, anyway. (See, that is).

Your fish will be fine.

I'm leaving on Friday and won't be coming back untill Monday. I don't plan to leave a weekend feeder for any of my fish (see sig). Most don't like the food those come with and they just cloud the water for such a short period of time.

In September I will be away for 7 days, and will definately buy a weekend feeder then though. or maybe an automatic feeder so they can still get the food they like.

Haven't decided yet.

For the lights you could get one of those timer switches. We have one wired up to both our tanks permanently as it saves me remembering to switch lights on and off. You can program a weekly/daily on and off thingy for them.

This is a great idea! but if your cheap like me, I'm just going to leave the shades open for the 3 days. :D

I would personally stay away from those drop in tank weekend feeders IMO they are garbage. They pollute your tank more than tbhey really feed if you asked me. An automatic feeder would be better. If you do that, buy it in advance and test it for a couple days before you leave to make sure it works properly. For 3 days your fish and frogs will be fine. I feed my frogs every 3 days normally. A timer for your lights is a great idea, it is also what I do permanently, it makes it easy to keep the lights on a schedule.

I do weekend trips frequently, and all fishes do fine without any food for 2 - 3 days in a row. I personally have the tank lights on timers so they go on and off with or without me... :D But I can't see how it could go wrong by leaving the tank light off.
