V16 Zebra Danios

Alright, well, my 2 zebra danios keep chasing each other around at high speed. Is this a form of aggresion or is this just what they do?

Danios are great and really active. They are probably just playing. I'm pretty sure they are a shoaling fish when put into groups of 5-6 or more...

I dunno. I just now fed them. One Zebra goes wild looking for food, the other one is hiding under a plant while everyone else eats breakfast. It also seems to be breathing rather fast.

Now that everyone is done eating breakfast, both of them are out and chasing each other again,

That is strange behavior. I hope the one that won't eat starts eating! Perhaps its because there are only 2 of them?

My giant danio kills all the other fish, that's why I had to remove it from the tank. AT feeding time, no one would come out with the danio in there b/c it was so aggressive. Once I took it out, everyone has been getting along well. Now I have to get a bigger tank and put the danio in that with some other danio friends....

I have 4 zebra danios and they just chase each other all the time. I thought it was a guy chasing after a girl but on reflection I think not. Ask Danio2004 or watch for a reply here from him - he's the "Danio oracle"!

Yeah. So they school in groups of 5 or more right? Pretty soon, I am planning on getting 3 more zebras that make 5. This maybe will improve their behavior. Also can I add 2 guppies to my 10 gallon. Here is what I plan to have at the end of the project.

10 gallon

5 zebra danios
4 fancy platies (as classified by petsmart)
2 guppies


Will this all work together? And can I add a small pleco or algea eater to that or not?

First of it is normal behaviour,
secondly a 10 gallon tnak is not really big enough
for zebra danios as they are very very active and need
lots of room to swim. If kept in that tank for too long they will become
very aggressive and start killing the other fish.

The danios chasing each other are normal behavior. I have six LF zebra danios in a 55 gallon with other fish. They swim fast and chase each other all the time. They take full advantage of the size of the tank and now I can't imagine them in a smaller one! And even though I have other fish in that aquarium that are smaller than they are, with six of them I've never seen them go chasing after anyone but each other.

Well, I took your word danio2004 and I trusted that the Danios will get aggressive, so I brought them back to the LFS in exchange for some, other peaceful fish that can be viewed on my signature.
