Is it ok to use a reptile UVB bulb?

Ok I'm making a total assumption here but aren't reptile bulbs designed to give off some heat?

not all. The UVB bulbs are disigned to give off ultra violet. No heat.

i think so, although i would get an aquarium bulb
i am sure my actinic blue gives off uvb but i might be wrong, i'll have to check the box when i get home

Are you talking a flourescent bulb for a lightstrip or bulbs that fit in the reptile spotlight heat thingie? Flourescent bulbs are usually the same price if they are for reptiles or fish. If thats it then it could probably be used but all of those bulbs usually have to be replaced every year or so anyways. I don't know about the other type of bulbs. They usually aren't recommended for fish tanks.
