I have just got a Vecton UV 15 for my tank.

I have beeen told not to run it continuously only unr it on when you have a problem.

- however on reading some more other people say leave it on all the time.

Anybody got any experience or advice.

I had the Vectron 8w & ran it 24/7, never got any probs & water stayed crystal clear!!

I had the vectron 8 and my tube blown. i bought another tube and the vectron still will not work, starter fuse was changed and still does not work. i think there must have been a leak. only had the unit a year. think the whole thing is knackerd.

Ive heard of people only having it on when there is ich in the tank, or a new fish is intorduced, but have also heard of it being left on all the time. Your choice I guess.

I run a Vecton 15w continously and I have Ozone as a backup in case of infection.
