On duty for tank cleaning and water changes.
Captain, how many tanks?
Just 6, ensign.
Oohhh, Captain. I hurt my wrist and can't carry that much water, sir.
Figure something out, ensign.
Permission to gather new supplies, Captain.
Granted, now get out.
Longest distance from water source is 40', shortest is 20'. Five gallon food safe bucket at water source, pump inside bucket (water is dechlorinated and matches temperature of tanks before going in). Long vinyl line attached to pump, starting at the farthest tank. Small "emergency" 1 gallon bucket nearby. Pump plugged into smart plug.
"Computer: lower shields!"
Pump starts, first tank done.
"Computer: raise shields!"
Pump stops.
Move to next tank...
Repeat process.
All it took was to rename Echo to "Computer", some vinyl line, a pump that was not used, and a big grin.
Captain, mission accomplished!
God job, ensign. Have some Earl Grey tea.
I just wanted an excuse to go to the hardware store
