Like my previous question on carbon can someone advise me about the usefullness of zeolite and when to use it and when to not use it?

Zeolite is good as an emergency measure when something has gone wrong and you're left with a high ammonia level and no available biofilter, or when you're transporting in conditions that a biofilter might not like.

It's actually a problem otherwise as it tends to starve the filter of ammonia, which is essentially it's primary food source, and then fill up and stop working, with a struggling biofilter left to cope.

Thanks for that.
Is there a time limit on how long zeolite lasts similar to carbon for example

Sadly no, It lasts until it's full, then it stops, fairly precipitously.

Forgive my ignorance drrob but how do u know when its "full".
Can I rinse it and clean it out to reuse it or just throw it away when its "full"
