Using Hot Water To Clean Algae Off Live Rock

Hi,

I have read somewhere that hair algae can be stopped from growing back on live rock if you use hot water to scrub the algae away.

Is this true and would it affect the live rock from doing its job?

Thanks for any advice or comments on this.

I doubt it would work and may kill beneficial bacteria
