Useing Normal Wood?

hi i am starting a planted tank in my juewl trigon 190, can you use normal wood or do you have to do something to it before you do? i just cant find any decent branches for sale anywhere.

Some types of wood are OK, like oak, but if you don't know then it's better to be safe.

PlantedBox have some lovely manzanita wood at the moment, all branchy. AquaEssentials have a few types but they're a bit more pricy. Also try looking for redmoor on Ebay, or manzanita.
