I TRIED FEEDING MY FRY(OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE ZEBRA DANIOS) YOLK

POWDERED AND MIXED IN WATER AFTER 2-3 DAYS, BUT THEY STILL DON'T EAT.

I THINK THEY WERE JUST RECENTLY HATCHED SINCE THEY ARE SO SMALL. 1

HAS DIED ALREADY(I HAD 5; IT'S BODY WAS TWISTED) 2, I THINK, ARE ON THE VERGE OF DYING. PLEASE HELP ME! WHAT SHALL I DO?

Try a product like Lquid fry food by interpet or something similar, thats wot i try with livebearing fish but i know that diano's are egg scatters so u need the number 1 food in that range.

Where are you based?

Excatly they will eat it when they want to the food will float around in the water and they will eat it maybe seprate them from your other fish!

Hi boa4ever :)

Don't be alarmed about losing a few of your fry. This is the way nature deals with the ones that are too weak and/or malformed.

In their natural environment many more fry would be lost due to predators, rough water, lack of food, etc. That is why the fish lay so many eggs and with that number, some of them are bound to be less than perfect.

Look for a liquid fry food made especially for egglayers. It will get them through the first few weeks and after that, the ones that are left will have a very good chance of survival.

It's very important to keep your water clean, and with egg or liquid food it's hard to do. Plan to change some of the water every day and net out any food particles or unhatched eggs that seem to have gone bad.

Good luck and let us know how the rest of them are doing! :D

Thanks for all your help. I got some liquid food and it worked great.
for bigfish.... I live in Chicago, US
for snotirl... I have separated the fry in a net, since the grown ups would eat them
for Inchworm.. I was kinda freaked out because they were my first fry, and they ment alot to me. They wern't really dying because they were weak... They couldn't get food. Thanks for the advice about cleaning.

In the end, I was only able to save one, which is quite big and healthy now. I will have many more fry, so I'm not so worried. Thanks for all the advice *^^*
