Hi,
I'm in a bit of a rush because I was checked prices while bidding on Ebay and I've found this fantastic Dutch site that sells filters really cheap.

I'm looking for an external filter to give more swimming space in my 110 litre Juwel corner tank (moderately planted and heavily stocked with tetras, gouramis, barbs etc.). Currently I have a Juwel column filter that doesn't produce much surface aeration, takes up a ton of space but is a very efficient biological filter (important as I'm so heavily stocked). The other major problem is that it requires the water level to be 2" below the hood which doesn't look so great.

I've been trying to get an Eheim ordinary external filter but I haven't the money. Then I saw this ad for the Liberty. It looks like a hang-on-the-side filter, which would be ideal except for a problem with the hood (anything poking out over the top wouldn't fit) but I could make another triangle-shaped bit to replace the current hood, with a notch cut out for the filter (?).

Any thoughts? Opinions? Experience with these filters? Or should I save my pennies and get an Eheim external? The other possibility is a Sicce Genio, but I think that's going to go for more than I can afford too :( and besides, I've never heard of it and all the websites are in Italian!
