Okay y'all, this is not my betta fish. I'm trying to help someone on Instagram. The betta has lived like this for a few months now. Here's a picture of the poor guy.

I'll find out his symptoms and add them. Anyone recognize it? Is there any cure?

Okay, she says he doesn't eat much and just stays at the bottom of his tank.

It looks like a tumor of some sort. Fish can get them. If the tumor is affecting the internal organs, that could explain why he isn't swimming or eating. I wouldn't think he will survive like that much longer. Poor guy. Hopefully someone else will chime in and either confirm what I have said or correct me.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. Thank you for your input!

Okay, she says he's been sick for almost six months. So, somehow he's still alive! Any clue?

Would be thinking it's past time to put the poor little guy out of his misery, myself.
Yeah, not sure I'll convince her to though. I think she's pretty young and kinda attached to him. Just another case of a misinformed betta owner (small tank, knows nothing about Nitrite/Ammonia ect....)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that looks like lymphocytes which there is no cure for and eventually will be deadly to the affected fish.

Alright, thanks y'all! I'm going to see if she's willing to put him out of his misery. I know people use clove oil, but how much?

I have never had to use clove oil but I know its basically an anthestic for fish so to little time in it and the fish can "come back" to life vets operating on fish use clove oil to temporarily keep the fish alseep/ still so they can operate. Also I am not sure how well it works on a air breathing fish like a fighter.

Check out this topic on lymp that another member has made, and then make your decsions on euthanasia.

The betta isn't mine, and I can't convince her to euthanize him unfortunately. Thank you for your help!
