Hello, my name is Lindie im new to this hobby.
My black neon tetra fish started to swim with its head up and tail down and is not eating. I read it might be bladdes dissease. I put all the fish on a 3 day diet with only peas and brine shrimp.

But i saw the female gubby poop a stringy white poop which is could also mean contcepation or bacteria.
Should i treat with metroplex or continue with the diet? I also have a pregnant guppy, will the metroflex harm the babies?

What should I do with the black neon tetra? I do not have a quarintine tank?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

If the black neon is having trouble swimming there probably isn't anything you can do to help it. If it sinks to the bottom when it stops swimming it has a swim bladder problem and I would euthanise it.

As for the guppy doing stringy white poop, if the fish is eating well then it probably has intestinal worms.

The following link has information about stringy white poop, including treating fish for worms.

Don't add chemicals/ medications unless you know what the problem is.

Metroplex is an anti-biotic and should only be used on known bacterial infections that have not responded to normal treatments. Improper use and mis-use of anti-biotics has lead to drug resistant bacteria that kill people, animals, birds, reptiles and fish.
